If you found VerifiedInjectorBot/1.0 in your server logs, that was us. This page explains what it is, what it reads, and how to make it stop.
What it does
Verified Injector is a directory of medical spas in which every listing is verified, not only the paid ones. The crawler reads a business’s own public website so that what we publish about it comes from the business itself rather than from a third-party directory. Where we publish a fact, we publish the page it came from, the sentence it came from, and the date we read it.
- It identifies itself
- Every request carries the User-Agent VerifiedInjectorBot/1.0, with a link back to this page.
- It obeys robots.txt
- Including Crawl-delay. A path we are disallowed from is not fetched, and it is not retried under a different user agent.
- It is slow on purpose
- At most one request per second to a single site, and slower where robots.txt asks for more. At most six pages per site.
- It only reads public pages
- Typically the homepage and the services, team, contact and booking pages. It does not log in, submit forms, or follow anything behind a sign-in.
How to stop it
Add this to your robots.txt and we stop on our next visit:
User-agent: VerifiedInjectorBot Disallow: /
Or email crawler@verifiedinjector.com and we will exclude your site. You do not need to give a reason.
What opting out does and does not do
Asking us not to crawl your site is not held against you and does not affect how a listing is shown. It means we will not read your website, so anything we publish about the business comes only from public registries such as the NPI Registry, state licensing boards and Secretary of State records.
To correct something we have published, or to ask what we hold about a business, use the same address. We do not charge to correct an error our own process introduced.
Verification covers credentials and license status as of the date shown on each listing. It is not an assessment of quality, safety, or treatment outcomes.
